GREEN ISLAND Art, Design, Landscape, in collaboration with CENTOSTAZIONI Group, is launching an international call for proposals regarding the design of public areas at Garibaldi Train Station in Milan (Italy). The international call for ideas invites students of architecture, design, young designers and young professionals (under 40), to express their own creativity and imagination in order to develop innovative concepts to improve various areas of Porta Garibaldi Station in Milan and create eco-compatible objects of public utility.
In particular, the attention is focused on innovative and ecological proposals for recycling waste and cigarette butts, with a call for projects offering new designs for the litter bin areas and smoking areas along the platforms.
The call will be widely publicised; proposals will be evaluated by a committee of international experts the winning work will have the possibility to be realised at the train station. The winner will be announced during Milano Design Week (11th April 2016) at Garibaldi Train Station in Milan (Italy).

05 April: jury decision
11 April: public announcement of the winner during the press conference of the ‘Green Island Milano Design Week’ event at Porta Garibaldi Train Station in Milan (Italy).
Prizes for the winner/s and for any special mentions will be offered by Museo Alessi.
